The 11th Annual AsiaXpress Tennis Tournament is coming up on Labor Day weekend. Register to play and support the Asian tennis community. Here are the details of the tournament:

Deadline for received payment: Sept 2, 2009 ($10 late fee after this date if spaces are available)
$25 – Singles; $40 Per Doubles Team ($10 off if you participate in singles, doubles and mixed doubles)

Tournament Location: Arvada Tennis Center, 6430 Miller St., Arvada, CO 80004
Tournament Dates/Time: Sept. 5th, 6th 9AM – 6PM
Singles Tournament begins: Sat, Sept. 5th @ 9AM
Men’s & Mixed Doubles Tournament begins: Sat, Sept. 5th in the late afternoon
Women’s Doubles Tournament begins: Sun, Sept. 6th
Rain and/or delayed matches: Mon, Sept. 7th @ 9AM

Hey Participants,

The album is finally done. I thought I try something new this year and tag each and everyone of you in the 800 pictures. I went through each individual one and I probably got some of them tagged incorrectly (or not at all since I don’t know your name) so don’t be offended. You can just let me know who is who in the picture and I can try to retag them. Also, I attached a video below on how you can find your tags. There are two different tags. Google has a face recognition tool but I find that not as reliable as my own personal tags. You can use both to find more pictures of yourself. There are two parts to the album. Make sure you check both. The scores and winners will be posted later. Enjoy.

I was out of town last week and didn’t get the chance to meet most of you, however, I look forward to that tomorrow.

I’d like to thank ALL of my friends for helping out with the tournament last week. The success of the tournament wouldn’t have been possible without you guys. You guys are truly great friends. Thanks for all of your cooperation and teamwork last week. Also, the tournament wouldn’t have been possible without, Cuong. He stayed up all night last Thursday putting together the brackets just to make sure that all of you were accommodated for. This is a very difficult task for those of you who don’t know–making sure you’re matched up with people you want to/don’t want to play with the first round and that there are no time conflicts. The system that he came up with on the day of the tournament was very efficient from registration to times that matches took place to which courts participants were playing on. So with a lot of hard work put into this tournament, we hope you’ve had a great time so far!

Courts & Time Rescheduled

Update: There are revisions on some brackets due to players not being able to make it on Saturday. Please look at the revised brackets again for new times.

All,

I have talked with Gates and we will get roughly 8 courts on Saturday (shifting courts every 4 to 5 hours) so the location will still be at Gates and we will start the tournament at 10:30AM. Please look below for your scheduled time. Again, let me know if there are any mistakes in the draws (I will try my best to accommodate you).

Here are the bracket schedules for this year’s tournament. Please look at them carefully as I tried my best to avoid time conflicts but I’m sure they will be a few during the tournament. PLEASE EMAIL/CALL ME ASAP IF YOU SEE ANY ERRORS IN THE DRAWS. We all know I’m human and I also make mistakes (especially at 4am in the morning) so please look at your time carefully. Brackets with 4 or less players/team will have a consolation bracket and the winner will have a chance to play in the higher bracket. Good Night.

The 3rd Annual Super Smash Tennis Tournament is quickly approaching! We hope you all have been taking advantage of this fantastic weather by sharpening up on your tennis skills. Before the tournament, we hope you take notice of some of these useful reminders:

1) Register AND Pay before Saturday, May 16th to qualify to get your registration money back. You will be entered into a drawing along with everyone else who pays before May 16th. DEADLINE for Registration and Payment is May 20th.

2) Make sure you bring enough liquids to hydrate yourself on the tennis court.

3) If you haven’t already purchased a t-shirt from us, make sure you bring cash so that you can get one at the tournament. T-shirts will be sold for $5 and proceeds from that will go to VietHope.

4) Get all of your friends and family to register for the tournament NOW!

5) There will be a COMPLIMENTARY BBQ (until supplies last) for your friends and family to enjoy. Participants will get a special lunch provided by us.

6) Remember, this is a 9-game pro-set single elimination tournament.

7) THIS SATURDAY on May 16th from 11A to 1P, there will be a DEMO DAY at Gates Tennis Center. You can try out the new Spring 2009 racquets from Babolat, Prince, Wilson and Head. All,

We have to make the trophy decision this Thursday at the latest. The brackets with zero or 1 registered player will be removed. Please encourage people you know who wants to play in those brackets to register ASAP.

Also, for the brackets that have only two teams by the time registration closes, the winner(s) will move on to play in the next bracket (this will give you more play time).

Thanks to all that have already paid for the tournament. We encourage those who have not paid yet to do so as soon as possible. We do not want you to incur the late fee the day of the tournament. Remember the deadline for registration payments is on 5/20/09.

Thanks to those who voted for the t-shirt designs. We will be sending in the design for T-shirt 2 and have it printed for next weekend!

Hey All,

Our budget this year for trophies or prizes is very low. Please leave a comment stating what you would rather receive if you were to win 1st or 2nd place. If you decide to choose the prize, list the prizes you want but please be reasonable (no TVs, racquets, 12pack combo bag, etc). We will have 27 1st and 27 2nd place winners; therefore, the prizes that you choose will have to be within our budget.
